BuceyOT Mission Statement
Meaningful participation in daily activity is the mark of health and well-being for an individual regardless of culture or diversity. The inclusion of all in education is the vehicle towards meaningful participation and therefore a catalyst for global health and well-being. The mission of BuceyOT is to provide international occupational therapy resources, strategies and support for the participation of all children in education and community.
Janet C. Bucey, OTD, OTR/L is an experienced and practicing registered occupational therapist of 34 years. Her occupational therapy background includes the combination of school-based practice with areas such as rehabilitation, acute care, neonatal, burn and home care. Always coming back to the schools, however, she has worked solely in the past 21 years in school-based practice. Janet was named Master Clinician of the year in 2014 for the US Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association. She has presented regularly at regional and national conferences regarding collaboration in schools, sensory regulation, and Response to Intervention for occupational therapists. She is trained in S’cool Moves and certified in the Sensory Integration Praxis Test. Most recently, she has taught full day courses at the national level to equip therapists in the Response to Intervention approach. She presently lives in Halle as an expat and completed the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program of Chatham University, Pittsburgh, USA in December 2015. Janet’s first language is English.
